“It Ends With Us” co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni‘s legal battle has taken a dramatic turn. Lively’s team recently blamed Baldoni for trying to silence people speaking out against sexual harassment perpetrators. The actor’s lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, publicly issued a statement to US Weekly, accusing Baldoni of having “tear down” laws made to protect accusers. This update in the duo’s legal battle comes at a time when their fellow co-star, Brandon Sklenar, who initially appeared to support Lively, distanced himself from the drama.
Brandon Sklenar doesn’t want in on Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni drama amid case update
The Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal battle is taking new turns each day. On April 10, Lively’s lawyers accused Justin Baldoni of using “scorched earth” tactics to silence people speaking out against sexual harassment perpetrators. For those unaware, the “scorched earth” policy is a military strategy of burning or destroying any resources that might be useful against invading enemy forces.
Lively’s lawyers, Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb, said in the statement to US Weekly, “Mr. Baldoni has gone from monetizing a brand devoted to believing and supporting women, to leading the charge to tear down the very law that protects women who come forward about sexual assault, harassment and discrimination.” This statement comes as they try to get Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively dismissed.
The “It Ends With Us” co-stars’ legal battle began in December 2024. Lively reportedly accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and of conducting a smear campaign against her. Meanwhile, he also filed a retaliatory lawsuit against Lively for defamation and other claims. Their trial will begin in March 2026.
On the other hand, the duo’s fellow movie co-star, Brandon Sklenar, chose to stay away from the stars’ legal drama. A paparazzi recently caught up to him at an airport, asking Sklenar if he had any words of encouragement for his fellow actors. As per Daily Mail, he said, “Lead with love and compassion.” Initially, the actor supported Lively by sharing the New York Times article about her lawsuit against Baldoni on his Instagram Story.
However, Sklenar soon changed his stance. In February, he appeared on CBS Mornings when host Gayle King asked him if he was “Team Blake or Team Justin.” He responded with, “I’m team ‘It Ends With Us.'”
