Here’s an announcement worth all of your attention. After spending Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in an on-and-off relationship. Britani Batman and Jared Osmond have gone Instagram official. She’s been promoted from “best friend” to “girlfriend,” and we couldn’t be happier for the two love birds.

Jared Osmond and Britani Bateman are Bravo’s hottest new couple

The last time we heard an update on Jared and Britani, the RHOSLC newbie claimed she learned some “shady stuff” about him. At the time, she said they had been broken up for a few months. Clearly, something changed because, on December 22, Jared announced that they were officially in a relationship.

“When an angel comes into your life that brings you happiness, peace, and love you hold on with both hands! Introducing my beautiful girlfriend, Britani Bateman,” Jared wrote on Instagram, along with a caption saying, “Yes, life is good with Britani by my side.”

On RHOSLC, we’ve watched Britani contend with her feelings for Jared as his questionable social media activity came to light. In real life, she’s already using the L-word with this man.

“I’m so happy and so in love with you, baby,” Britani wrote in Jared’s comments.

It’s only a matter of time before these two start looking at properties on Osmond Lane, but some RHOSLC fans aren’t sold on this romance. Plenty of people in Jared’s comments took the time to share their thoughts.

“Britani has his phone,” one shady fan theorized. Another added, “Do you really love her or do you just love the attention that announcing this will give you both?”

Further down in the comments, Jared said he didn’t care about any of the shady opinions of the commenters. He took a few minutes to clap back at some of the people casting doubt on his newly announced relationship.

“You’re an idiot,” Jared wrote to one fan. He asked another fan, “What does your opinion mean to me?”

Clearly, he’s learned a thing or two from his time around the women of RHOSLC. If he and Britani stick together, we’ll probably be seeing more of him on our screens.

Mary Cosby is truly the shining star of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5. Aside from sharing some of the rawest moments in her personal life with the viewers, she’s always comedic relief. This year, Mary has found a new “little girl” to shade – Britani Bateman. And somehow, their dynamic only continues to get more confusing.

Britani has been doing the most during her first season as a friend on RHOSLC. We can’t even get into the Jared Osmond stuff but know that they have a tumultuous on-and-off relationship. Somehow, it came up in an argument that Jared was sliding into Mary’s DMs while dating Britani. The show never really dove deeper into that mess, but fans didn’t hesitate to ask Britani for answers during her Watch What Happens Live debut.

Britani Bateman isn’t bothered

Basically, Britani claimed she wasn’t bothered by Jared’s random DMs to Mary. In fact, she claims she was with Jared when he was sending Mary the messages, which somehow leaves us with more questions. “It was just kind, nice, normal, platonic texts,” Britani explained. “So I think more was insinuated than actually was meaning to be.” 

Then, Heather Gay, who sat beside Britani, had a different opinion of the situation. “I was standing next to Mary at the anniversary mafia party and Jared was like, ‘You’re so beautiful Mary, you’re so wonderful,’” she said. So Jared was flirting with Mary? This is some tea.

Ultimately, Britani admitted that Jared’s flirty behavior was a problem in their relationship. The Mary situation just wasn’t the catalyst. “To be fair that’s why we’re not together, because there was some of that I didn’t appreciate,” Britani said. “But Mary, I would say it was all above board.”

There are whole neighborhoods dedicated to this family tree in Salt Lake City. So when Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers discovered that Jared Osmond would be making an appearance, Bravo had our attention. 

Jared Osmond is the Prince Harry of Mormons

The famed Mormon singer is sharing his honest reaction to his nephew Jared making waves on RHOSLC. While speaking with E! Donny shared a few thoughts regarding Jared and Britani Bateman’s toxic relationship.

Donny told the outlet, “I understand it’s a little bit risqué, but to each his own. I haven’t watched it, but good for him. There’s a lot of Osmonds.” The comment seemed a bit cold, but fans expected nothing less, as it is rumored that Jared often leads with his last name. 

Donny joked that keeping tabs on his extended family is hard. The Las Vegas icon noted, “Let’s put it like this: When there’s a family reunion, the whole state of Utah comes together. That’s how big it is.”

Jared isn’t the only Osmond who has embraced reality TV. Donny’s son, Chris Osmond, competed in the ABC series Claim to Fame last year and came in with the bronze medal. Donny remarked, “I thought he should have won. He was the best part of the show in my opinion. There’s all kinds of Osmonds out there.”

Donny has always been the big star of the family. But maybe Jared wants to take over the torch-bearing and create a space of his own. But I think it is safe to assume Donny won’t be tuning in anytime soon.

Season 5 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has introduced us to SLC’s resident celebrity-adjacent lothario, Jared Osmond – all thanks to Britani Bateman.

Basically, all we’ve learned about Britani so far is that her on/off relationship with Jared swings back and forth faster than the head of a Whitney Rose bobble.

Britani recently gave an update on her and Jared’s status. Unsurprisingly, they’re off right now. Britani says it’s because she discovered he’s been doing shady phone business. Again. Allegedly.

Britani Bateman says she and Jared Osmond have been broken up for months

During last night’s episode of RHOSLC, Jared crashed Angie Katsanevas’ 25th anniversary “Mafia Wives” themed party. It was pretty awkward since Britani was there and had brought a guy named Aaron as her date.

On the heels of that, Britani talked about where she and Jared stand today on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show. She says they’ve been broken up for a couple of months now since she found out that Jared was perhaps doing more Jared stuff. Shocker!

She shared, “We’ve been broken up for about three months. Again, I found shady stuff going on behind my back and I broke up with him. What was it this time? He was on a dating app and wouldn’t show me his phone.”

Lisa Barlow, who was sitting next to Britani also shared an encounter she had with Jared that gave her pause.

Lisa explained, “You can be in love with someone or love someone, but they’re totally different. So I’m like, ‘Do you love Britani? Are you in love with Britani?'”

Lisa found his response telling. “He said he loves you. And I go, ‘But are you in love with her?’ Because that’s a really big thing. It’s a distinction. And I can’t remember what the final [answer] was, but I just didn’t like him even more.”

Lisa also mentioned an instance where Jared and Britani came to the opening of her lounge together. However, Lisa says he acted pretty single that night.

Britani concluded, “He’s just a flirt king. He’s a player.”

Britani has moved on from Jared – at the moment

Apparently, Britani’s spreadsheet-deep in dates now that she and “kind of a douchebag” Jared are over.

She revealed, “Back then, my self-esteem was just in the toilet. And so I was like, ‘Well, fine. I’m not the fish you want to catch? I’m not good enough for you?’ Well, boom, I’m gonna get on social and see what I can do. Boom, 10,000 hits on Bumble. Boom, 15,000 on Tinder. And I’m gonna have my pick.”

She continued, “I didn’t need to have 10 people on rotation or whatever, but I did. I would stack them like three dates a night just for efficiency… And I kept track of them on a spreadsheet…I have my list of what I’m looking for — and do they check this box? And then I would narrow it down.”

Whew. She must be exhausted. Probably not as exhausted as Mary Cosby is every time Britani mentions Jared, though!

It’s clear the Mormon Church wants to be as far away from reality TV as possible. But the conglomerate has found itself in the middle of quite the kerfuffle. Between The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives getting a second season on Hulu and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, they have their work cut out for them. But now that the church has been essentially made into its own character, I want to figure out why the Osmond family holds so much clout in Utah. I mean, are they gods or something? 

Who are the Osmonds?

The most famous family members of the Osmonds are Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond. But the Osmonds are an American family entertainment group often called “Mormon royalty.” As a family, they toured the country singing. But they got their big break as The Osmond Brothers after appearing on The Andy Williams Show. They were considered musical missionaries who were open about their faith. The Osmonds were all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). Fans grew to learn that their parents were active members of the church and taught their children to sing barbershop harmony. But the real talent was with Donny and Marie, who starred in a very popular variety show, Donny & Marie, which ran until 1979.

However, the family was marred by tragedy from early on, and their upbringing was far from fairytale. The patriarch was a demanding father who wanted perfection. George Osmond was known for his strict discipline of the children. He had his sons working in all kinds of jobs, from real estate to insurance sales. The family was actually given the nickname “One Take Osmonds” because they never made a mistake. Donny once shared via The Guardian that his dad was “a strict disciplinarian who assigned each child a number for family head counts.” Donny noted he was also beaten for complaining. 

Why are the Osmonds Mormon Royalty?

When it comes to Mormon royalty, most understand them to be the rich, influential, powerful families that have a generational attachment to the Mormon Church. Naturally, some surnames that would pop to mind are Romney, Hatch, Smith, and Young. But the Osmonds are also high in the ranking. The Osmonds are adored as paragons of virtue. To the church, they are role models to look up to. Thanks to their pioneer heritage, the Osmonds have ancestors who came to Utah and Idaho with the Mormon pioneers. In fact, the Osmond’s family tree can be traced back to Devon, England.

Since day one, the Osmonds have shown faith and devotion to the Mormon Church. Even today, all of the family members are active members. Donny once told Desert New, “I have such a firm belief in God and Jesus Christ, and I’m a true Christian. I want to be very careful that I don’t shove it down anybody’s throat, but on my website, you know, people ask me questions all the time. I call it ‘My Beliefs,’ and I tell them exactly what I believe in, and it’s kept me grounded in life.” Donny and the rest of the Osmonds agree that “As long as you have a belief in a higher power, in God, and you recognize that, it keeps you humble. It keeps your feet on the ground. It keeps your perspective in life.”

Why is Jared Osmond causing a ruckus on RHOSLC?

The Osmond name was given a resurgence after newbie Britani Bateman revealed she was dating Jared Osmond. The nephew of Donny and Marie is also a musician, but no one remembers him for his musical ability. Unlike the rest of his clean-cut family, Jared is coming across as a cad. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers just watched as Britani was told that Jared had been sliding into other women’s DMs. However, now he is clapping back, claiming she is unstable and uses him. In a word-vomiting post, Jared wrote, “The fascinating part of Britani’s story is that she adds so much drama for no reason.”

Jared added, “Truly, in an attempt to be relevant. If you want to know the truth on our history, I have never walked away from her. I’ve always been steady, spoiled her over the last year. Paid for everything and have been a true gentleman.” Jared said, “Rather than just steadily stay with me and work through all of the dating issues that pop up, she runs like a scared child. I need to date a stable woman.” Utah is a small town, so when an Osmond messes up, people will know. Only time will tell if there are more DMs to uncover and if the Mormon family can reign supreme.

Season 5 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is on fire. And Angie Katsanevas is front and center for the drama. During the premiere, she presented Meredith Marks with a scroll listing everything that Meredith needed to apologize for. In a shocking move, Meredith chose not to engage. However, when Angie learned that Britani Bateman’s on-and-off boyfriend, Jared Osmond, was getting flirty with her brow girl, Angie stepped in.

Anyway, Angie found herself in the middle of some unwanted drama. “I was definitely surprised at my brow girl sharing the DMs that Jared had sent her, because the way Britani explained their relationship, yes it was on-again, off-again, but they had gotten back together last I had heard,” Angie told The Daily Dish. Plus, “[Britani] was really into him; he was really into her, according to her,” she added.

Angie continued, “You know, he bought her some jewelry. Things had seemed great. So, to find out that he was sliding into the DMs of my brow girl, it was like, ‘Wow.'” Angie noted that the circumstances were “crazy.” Sadly, Britani suspected that Jared wasn’t committed.

However, Angie finally met Jared, and he seemed to pass her initial inspection. “He’s sweet, he’s funny, he’s charming – I can see why Britani likes him. But I’m just very unclear on their relationship,” Angie explained. “She says one thing and he says another. So, I’m not sure what in the world is going on there, or what to make of it.”

There is zero doubt that Jared was flirting in the tweets. During Episode 3 of RHOSLC, Angie read off the tweets. “So, she’d posted a hot little photo of herself, and he said: ‘Oh, you are so fun.’ And my friend said, ‘I’m actually a little bit of a handful.’ And he said, ‘Do tell’ with a little tongue-out emoji.” Eww! Britani should run for the hills. It seems like Jared wants to have his cake and eat it, too.
